In harmony with nature

A pleasant stay and a conscious one need not be opposing ideas At Santa Cruz Nature House, every choice we make — in the energy we use, the water we collect, or the food we grow — is part of the same commitment: to welcome guests well, without compromising what surrounds us.

Our commitment

Living well without compromising tomorrow

We believe that true well-being begins with an honest relationship with the environment. That is why every detail of our home has been designed to reduce impact and deepen harmony with the nature around us.

We live surrounded by nature — and we believe the least we can do is care for it with the same respect with which it welcomes us.

We have implemented a set of concrete practices — some more visible, others happening quietly behind the scenes.

From the energy that warms our floors to the food that reaches the table, everything stems from a conscious choice — and a genuine desire to leave this place better than we found it.

Solar Energy

Our solar panels contribute to heating the domestic water supply and underfloor heating, and also complements the heating of the indoor pool. The photovoltaic panels provide part of the hotel’s electricity, including the electric vehicle charging stations.

The house is heated through underfloor heating, powered by our solar panels. An efficient, silent system that distributes warmth naturally and evenly throughout every space.

We have two electric charging stations on the property, also powered by our solar panels. A way of supporting those who have already chosen a more conscious way of travelling.

Harvesting rainwater is collected and used to irrigate our green areas and kitchen garden. A simple, natural cycle that makes all the difference during the drier months.

We have our own kitchen garden, and part of what we grow goes directly to the table. We also compost — what isn’t eaten feeds what will grow next.

Our circular trail is lit by solar-powered lights. An invitation to walk at dusk, with just the right light and no additional energy consumption.

"Nature does not need us. But we need it — and here, we are reminded of that every day."

More than sustainability

Small gestures, big impact

Composting

Everything left over from the kitchen and garden is composted. A closed loop that nourishes the soil and reduces waste to a minimum.

Bird Houses

Dotted around the property, our little bird houses are an invitation to biodiversity. A simple gesture that turns the garden into a living habitat — and one our guests love to discover.

Organic Kitchen

We grow our own produce and use it in the kitchen. From soil to plate, with fewer intermediaries and a closer connection to nature.

Sustainable Lighting

From the solar lights along our circular trail to energy-efficient choices throughout the property, every light point has been designed to consume less and illuminate better.
